Skills and Approach

We bring the following practical skills to our house-sitting assignments, combined with a desire to leave things better than we found them - and a touch of OCD, in a good way!

• Mature but fun natured, happy to socialise but also discrete

• Hard working, diligent and responsible

• Good communication skills, positive energy and fast learners

• Troubleshooting and creative problem-solving

• Proactive approach with attention to detail

• Very practical and good with general maintenance/DIY

• Able to establish/maintain vegetable gardens and tend to established gardens

• We make our own organic insect sprays to help manage leafminer, aphids, and other beasties

• Confident with garden and DIY equipment such as ride-on lawnmowers, tractors, trailers, quad bikes, farm utility vehicles, chainsaws, strimmers/brushcutters, billhooks and power tools

• Able to maintain swimming pools and can assist with the opening and closing process

• Painting and decorating, put up shelving, curtain rails, lay wooden floors, tile small areas

• Successfully manage building contractors

• Understand fundamentals of plumbing and electrics with ability to diagnose problems and engineer temporary fixes

• Woodland management, tree planting, coppicing and hedgelaying

• Like to incorporate eco-friendly projects (hedgehog and bug hotels, bird and bat boxes, wildflower meadows and wildlife habitat)

• Caring for animals (great with rabbits, dogs, horses, sheep etc)

• Help with websites, blogs and social media along with content production (copy, photography, video)

Additional information

We are both native English speakers, Fiona also speaks basic French (Caroline’s french vocabulary extends to lawn mowing equipment, vegetables and wine).

We have our own vehicles and both hold full UK car and motorcycle licences.

We are social drinkers and non-smokers.

References and proof of CRB clearance can be provided.
